Start with the original file and make each size from that source. Repeatedly saving a JPEG can introduce compression artifacts. Keep an untouched copy so you can make a new export later.
Choose a fit that protects the important details
- Fit keeps the whole image visible and fills any extra canvas area with your chosen background.
- Fill covers the canvas by cropping from the center. Check that labels and product edges are not cut off.
- Keep ratio scales an image inside the dimensions you set and does not enlarge a small source.
Choose a format for the destination
JPEG is a practical choice for photographs but has no transparency. PNG is lossless and often larger, so it suits sharp graphics or transparent artwork. WebP can keep transparency when the destination accepts it. Check current upload requirements for the platform you use; Batchmint presets are general-purpose and are not marketplace certifications.
Before publishing, inspect crops, small text, color and file size. Browser re-encoding removes source EXIF metadata and can affect color presentation, so it is not intended for archival or color-critical print work.
